Do You Know the Right Way to Teach Phonics in Nursery School? |

A problem I have been asked about frequently is how phonics should be taught in nursery school, with children aged between 2 and 4 years.
 
The nursery staff say:“We are trying our best to follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.”“We are trying our best to follow the needs and interests of the children.”“Some children are ready to learn phonics in nursery, whilst others aren’t.”“If we don’t start to introduce phonics the children will be taught at home anyway.””The Reception class teacher in our link school doesn’t like us interfering with the phonics teaching.”“We feel like we get…
